American Powerball: Ticket Price Increase, Bigger Jackpots, Better Odds of winning

To mark the 20th anniversary of the USA Powerball in 2012, the lottery announced that they will be makes some changes to the ticket price as well as the draw structure.

The price per ticket will increase from $1 to $2, but it’s not all doom and gloom, as the minimum jackpot will be increase from the current $20 Million to $40 Million which will put even bigger smiles on winners. The higher jackpots should mean that we will begin to see new records when it comes to rollover jackpots and perhaps a new level of the super rich being created.
If you were to match 5 numbers and not the Powerball currently you would get $200,000 but from January 2012 you would get a nice surprise when they pay you $1 Million for your efforts.

To make things more enticing the game format will also be changed, they will be reducing the pool of numbers from 39 to 35 which will result in the odds of winning the main prize coming down from 195 million:1 to 175 million in 1.

These changes will come into effect 18 January 2012.

The new BMW M5 (F10 – 2012)

The latest M5 from BMW has taken a step in a different direction from previous models. Before the M5 had a high reviving low displacement V10 that was of course naturally aspirated,  however due to increasingly stricter CO2 restrictions and the need for lower fuel consumption BMW decided that the latest 2012 model should no longer be that fuel hungry beast of a car, so they opted to find another way of power their 5 series M model.

In the end they settled on a 4.4l V8 engine and then they added the twin scroll turbo system that’s found in other BMW models such as the X6 M and the result is that this is this is the most powerful M model ever produced by BMW. The car pushes out 412kW and 680Nm, and propells the car from 0-100 in just 4.4 seconds and it will carry on accelerating until it reaches 305 km/h with the limiter disabled of course. If you decided to hold back the raging beast you could expect a fuel consumption of roughly 11 liters per 100km’s.

All this power is transferred from the engine to the drive shaft via a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox, that is said to be blistering fast and super smooth.
