This mega luxury yacht is currently (16 Oct 2011) listed as the biggest motor powered yacht based on it’s length, the Eclipse measures 164m / 538 ft long.
Owned by Russian businessmen Roman Abramovich, the Eclipse is a state of the art yacht and no expense was spared when building and kitting out the yacht. The vessel has two helipads, a number of Jacuzzi’s / hot tubs, two swimming pools which is rumored one can be drained and converted in to an additional dance floor. There is also a disco hall, 30 cabins (8 of which are guest sleeping quarters) and the the 5,000 sq foot master bedroom has an electric opening roof so you can sleep under the stars.
The vessel requires a crew of 70 people in order to run it at full capacity.
The Eclipse also has its own submarine which is capable of diving to 50 meters and allows for Mr Abramovich and is girlfriend Ms Zhukova to board with privacy.
In terms of security the Eclipse is said to be fitted with anti missile systems, there are at least five exits that can be used should the ship come under attack. The master bedroom is fitted with bulletproof glass and there is also a high end alarm system fitted.
The yacht was built in Germany by famous yacht builders Blohm + Voss, it originally estimated to cost $300 Million, but this quickly grew to $1 Billion.
Parking this size vessel came sometimes be a bit of a problem, like in August 2011, the Eclipse was refused from docking in the the southern french town of Antibes because the only dock large enough to moor this size vessel was occupied by another luxury yacht called Kingdom KR5 who is owned by Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal Alsaud. This forced Mr Abramovich to get to shire via speedboat.

The latest M5 from BMW has taken a step in a different direction from previous models. Before the M5 had a high reviving low displacement V10 that was of course naturally aspirated, however due to increasingly stricter CO2 restrictions and the need for lower fuel consumption BMW decided that the latest 2012 model should no longer be that fuel hungry beast of a car, so they opted to find another way of power their 5 series M model.
In the end they settled on a 4.4l V8 engine and then they added the twin scroll turbo system that’s found in other BMW models such as the X6 M and the result is that this is this is the most powerful M model ever produced by BMW. The car pushes out 412kW and 680Nm, and propells the car from 0-100 in just 4.4 seconds and it will carry on accelerating until it reaches 305 km/h with the limiter disabled of course. If you decided to hold back the raging beast you could expect a fuel consumption of roughly 11 liters per 100km’s.
All this power is transferred from the engine to the drive shaft via a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox, that is said to be blistering fast and super smooth.

Colin and Chris Weir from Glasgow, Scotland who won EuroMillions and is the biggest ever jackpot to be won in UK. They have decided to move out of their modest home. They felt that their current home would no longer be praticle and could make life difficult for their neighbours that a new home would be in order.
At the time of winning the massive jackpot Chris said that he and his wife “love the town we live in. We love where it is and the scenery. We love how it is beside the seaside. The ambience is beautiful”. So it is no suprise that the couple’s new property is just a mile away from their current home.
Along with their new purchase they also bought a house for a close friend.
